All You Need to Know About Your Bill

With Direct Energy's Account Manager you have the ability to:

Billing Information

If you have just switched to Direct Energy as your electricity provider, please note that you will receive your first bill approximately 30 days after we receive the necessary account information from your local utility.

We will send out your electric bill once per month.

Deferred Payment Program: If you are unable to pay the complete amount of your current bill, you may qualify to pay in installments on an overdue balance until payment is complete. Contact customer service to discuss your situation.

Payment Options

Pay Online:

There are two methods for paying your bill online:

  1. With Direct Energy's Online Account Manager (OAM) you are able to:
    • View or pay your bill using direct debit or credit card (* no extra charge to pay online via the OAM)
    • Arrange to have bill notifications when your bill is posted
    • Track your energy usage
    • See your payment history
  2. With ChoicePay you are able to:
    • Pay your bills online with your credit card or from your checking or savings account
    • To get started today, you can enroll with ChoicePay at www.choicepay.com. Sign-up is easy and the service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please Note: a convenience fee of $2.95 will be charged per payment.

Pay In Person:

If you want to pay your bill in person, there are nearby cash advance store locations available. Enter your zip code to find your closest ACE Cash Express store and quickly pay your Direct Energy bill. You can also make walk-in payments at Western Union or In Person Payment (IPP) locations located at various grocery stores and gas stations located in your area. Fees may apply depending upon location.

Pay By Mail:

Your check or money order should be made payable to Direct Energy. If you have a ten digit account number that begins with a ‘5' (ex: 5123456789), please mail your payment to:

Don't forget to write your account number on your check or money order to ensure your payment is correctly applied to your account.

Pay By Home Banking Online Payments:

When using your personal or business bank account to pay Direct Energy online, please ensure the correct Direct Energy "payee address" is used.

If you have a ten digit account number that begins with a ‘5' (ex: 5123456789), please use:
